I have now read and hugely enjoyed Dr Barber's book, Corresponding with Carlos. Would he be amenable to making available a recording of his talk in March 2012 at the Opera Club of Vancouver, as many of us would love to hear it but alas will not be in the right place at the right time? Or would he and his hosts allow anyone else to record it?
I know this will be excellent, as his contributions to the Radio 3 programme on CK were particularly engaging and eloquent.

Thanks for asking!
We will make a DVD of the lecture (ninety minutes, with rare a/v materials and a brief conducting lesson) and make it available by Vimeo after March 18. Were you in Vancouver, you would of course be most welcome to join us.
Thx too for your kind words about the BBC Radio 3 documentary. They did a great job.
PS: We will shortly be opening a 'Corresponding With Carlos' website. The lecture DVD will be posted there too.

So Dr Barber, has the video had to be suppressed due to outrageous content? Has your phantom dog Carlissimo wolfed the negatives? We should be told... Yours eagerly...
