For some time I had been looking to purchase a copy of "Carlos Kleiber: Rehearsal and Performance," the renowned DVD based on the 1970 rehearsals and performances in Stuttgart of Carlos conducting the Südfunk Sinfonieorchester in Weber's "Der Freischütz" Overture and Strauss Jr.'s "Die Fledermaus" Overture. I had been looking in stores in the San Francisco Bay Area that have extensive collections of used DVDs and CDs, but to no avail. However, on the Internet I recently discovered a firm that sells new copies of that DVD: Presto Classical, in the UK. Here is its URL: www.prestoclassical.co.uk/If one goes to the search box and types in "Arthaus 101062" one will be taken to the page for that historic Kleiber DVD, which was apparently reissued in 2007. Presto sells it for $27.49 and it costs $2.95 for shipping to the U.S.A. One day after I placed my order, I received an e-mail "Dispatch notification," stating that my purchase had been dispatched, by air. I should add that Presto also sells a wide range of other Kleiber CDs and DVDs. I hope you find this information useful.

Dear mcginn,
I think that this DVD is not that rare. At least in UK, Austria and Germany it's available via Amazon.
All the best
ad1: There are somer other opera stores which have rare music by Carlos Kleiber. The next time I'll be at my home I can post them
All the best
